No update on Masilo�s abuse allegations

The 22-year-old who is facing fresh charges of robbery and indecent assault said in a previous appearance through his attorney Kgosietsile Ngakaagae that the police and prison authorities had mistreated him.
The prosecutor, Christinah Ramokwena had indicated that she should investigate the allegations and report to the court but yesterday, she did not turn up. Masilo will appear again for mention on April 29. The case will be tried on July 27-28.
Yesterday, Ngakaagae told the court that there has been some relaxation by the police and now his client is allowed to cover his face to thwart photo-journalists. “It looks like there have amended their error and corrected their ways,” he said. “We have now rested this issue altogether because my client can now protect himself from unsolicited photography,” Ngakaagae told the court.
