Thebe wins brand new VW Polo TSI

The promotion ran from November last year in all the stores and wholesalers around the country.
“I bought Hunters Gold last year at Tops in Mongala mall in Kanye, then a Hunters merchandiser called me to enter the competition, I still remember the guy’ s name, he is Gilbert, from here I am going to look for that man and give him money,” said Thebe in an interview with The Monitor.
According to Thebe he never expected to win the car and even forgot about the competition until last week when he got a call from the Hunters’ officers who broke the news to him that he has been selected as part of the top 10 finalists.
“Even when I came this morning, I never expected to win this; some of the finalists were nervous unlike me, I was just relaxed and luckily I emerged the winner,” he said adding that he had previously won Hunters Dry merchandise.
“I do not even know what to do with this car, it is beautiful and brand new. At first, I thought I would sell it and build a house and now I am confused, I do not know if I should sell it or use it.” Junior Brand Manager at Distill, Morne Van Greunen said that they ran this competition last year November as they realised that people in Botswana really like the Hunters’ brand and it is doing well in the market.
“We got all the entries together from all the liquor outlets and 10 finalists were drawn from a pool of entries that were collected from all participating liquor stores and wholesalers across the country.” he said.
An independent person did the draw with PriceWaterhouse Coopers auditors observing. Some of the finalists in the top 10 included: Tlhaloso Dongwana, Thusano Muowawa, Thembelani Albert, Kamogelo Matsime, Nicodimus Nteta, Tumisang Monpati, Larona Thebe, Pelonomi Keditse, Malaki Makgaolela and Peter Gontse.
