Relentless Magosi raring to extend lead

Top scorer: Tshireletso

The Kgatleng giants lead the log with 50 points, six points ahead of second placed Orapa United (OU).

Magosi have been in a superb form, winning four of the last five league games, in the process scoring 10 goals while conceding five.

The team is unbeaten in 2015. Attacker, Lemponye Tshireletso will continue his quest for the green boot and improve on the 14 goals he has scored this season.

Magosi would want to put behind disturbing news of Letlapeng’s appeal over the eligibility of captain, Pontsho Moloi.

Coach Mike Sithole told Mmegi Sport they were busy preparing for the game. “We have no suspensions and we are injury free. We are preparing for Nico like any other team. In the first round, we had a defensive problem but that is sorted,” Sithole said.

Nico United are 14th in the league with 20 points and are second from bottom. Majombolo have accumulated eight points in their last five games.  But, their defence is leaky as they have conceded five while scoring six. Captain, Richard Legwaila will relish facing a team he notched a hattrick against in the Mascom Top 8 cup last October.

The hard working, Onkabetse Makgantai would be buoyed by this week’s national team call. Nico assistant coach, Blue Same said the knife was out as they go for an all out attack against Chiefs.

“The position we are in requires us to go for attack as we are trying to avoid relegation. We will miss ‘Sunday’ (Monametsi Kelebale) due to a knock, but every one is up for selection.”  Gaborone United (GU) dumped Nico out of the Top 8 competition last weekend. Both teams have shifted their attention to the league, as they are both out of the Mascom Top 8.

The two teams have met three times this season; each has won a game, with the other ending in a draw.  In other week 23 fixtures, on Saturday, BDF XI host BR Highlanders at the SSKB Stadium.
