TNT to premier its debut theatrical play

The show, which will be staged at the National Museum, is titled With Heart, Not Eyes.  Christopher Mangiroza one of the TNT founding members said the play is aimed at promoting street dance.  “For years street dance has been put aside as an irrelevant style of dance hopefully this will open people’s eyes,” he said.

He said he believes that individuals would view the art of street dance in a new light after the play. Mangiroza said they plan to play calm music that will grasp the audience’s attention.

The urban dancer mentioned that their debut theatre performance is more of an action-packed stage play. He said the story would be told through dance  “The stage play will show the audience how dancers can portray a picture, vision or story with their moves as an artist would using a paint brush,” Mangiroza said.

A number of TNT dancers including Mangiroza have a theatrical background having participated in a number of plays under Mophato Dance Group and other theatre groups.

The crew is also affiliated to renowned choreographer Moratiwa Molema who has given them great support.

TNT elevated from being an ordinary dance crew late last year when they registered as an entertainment agency. Prior the elevation they conducted a number of workshops as a way of promoting urban dance.

They also won My African Dream in 2011. For a ticket get in touch with the TNT members on their Facebook page.
