The two, who hold Diplomas in Secondary Art Education, said the exhibition aims to bring art closer to locals and enhance art appreciation amongst Batswana.

“We are going to feature the best quality artworks, which are affordable to Batswana,” Bagwasi said.

The exhibition will be an interesting one, catering to different tastes since the two artists express themselves differently through their art.

Bagwasi specialises in realism, while Kealeboga specialises in abstract art. The exhibition will feature paintings, drawings, and prints.

“We are going to feature never seen before artworks, and show Batswana that artworks are not necessarily as expensive as some people perceive them to be. We will give them good quality artworks at reasonable prizes,” Bagwasi emphasised.

Kealeboga said the exhibition will also be educational, explaining that they intend to raise culture awareness thorough the exhibition. He further said it is common knowledge that as a society we are slowly loosing the value of ‘our’ culture, which is slowly being replaced by western culture.

He said there is a possibility that future generations might be faced with identity crises, due to the disappearance of cultural values.

Kealeboga added that artworks stand the test of time, and someone acquiring artworks, which showcase culture, will go a long way in preserving it.

“Someone acquiring a piece of artwork, which addresses the cultural aspect will be able to keep, and show future generations certain aspects of it,” he said.
