Letlapeng chairman, Sidney Magagane told Mmegi Sport the club has filed a protest over the use of Moloi. The Botswana Premier League (BPL) Disciplinary Committee (DC) is expected to hear the matter although no date has been set.

Magagane said their investigations showed that the Magosi’s skipper was not supposed to play due to suspension after accumulating three yellow cards. The protest was filed on Monday evening. Magagane did not want to divulge more details about the protest.

“We have filed a protest against Chiefs, but I do not want to get into details as the matter is still at a premature stage,” he said.

Chiefs’ Public Relations Officer (PRO), Clifford Mogomotsi confirmed receiving a copy of the protest. Although he was not in a position to get into detail about the matter, Mogomotsi said they believe Moloi was eligible to play.

“The player was and is still eligible to play in the next fixture, as he is not serving any suspension. I do not want to divulge details as we are to appear before the DC,” Mogomotsi said.

BPL chief executive officer, Bennet Mamelodi was unreachable for comment as he is said to be out of the country to receive medical attention.

Moloi was instrumental in the weekend win, providing an assist in the 3-1 victory, which saw Chiefs maintain a six point advantage at the top. If found guilty, Magosi could lose three points and two goals.

Meanwhile, it is reported Township Rollers might face a protest over the use of a new signing Tshepo Motlhabankwe, who is said to have been sitting on two yellows cards when he moved from BMC during the transfer window.

However, Rollers spokesperson, Bafana Pheto dismissed such reports saying they only heared of the matter through the media.
