Palapye All Stars players last week failed to honour a fixture against Tsabotlhe, but returned to action over the week after being paid their outstanding salaries.

“We have 20 players in our team who all went on strike over unpaid salaries when we were supposed to play Tsabotlhe FC, but I can confirm now that we met with the players last week Thursday.

“Their salaries were paid and they all pitched for training on Friday,” team manager, Tebogo Sentabane revealed.

However, the team coach, Mothusi Seditse said even though the players received their salaries, the strike had affected the side.

The coach, is however unfazed that the team sits second from the bottom in the First Division North league, saying they can survive relegation. “Well the guys have been paid, but the strike has disrupted our preparations. We only had a day to prepare for the Green Lovers game and that team is chasing the promotion play offs.

“It was a difficult game for us and they could sense our vulnerability and they took advantage of the situation,” Seditse said.

He was, however, confident they could still move away from the danger zone four games before the end of the season. The team lies three points behind the sixth placed team, raising hopes of survival.

Palapye All Stars play their next game against the struggling GNT in Palapye. They host both Amakhosi and Miscellaneous and travel to TASC in their last three consecutive fixtures.
