Last week the Permanent Secretary to the President, Carter Morupisi, announced the appointment and transfer of senior public officers, among whom was Masilo who re-joined the Office of the President as the deputy permanent secretary.

Masilo lost the Botswana Democratic Party’s primary elections for Gabane/Mmankgodi constituency in late 2013.

Lesedi Mmusi won the party’s ticket for the constituency with 909 votes, followed by the former area MP, Mmoloki Raletobana with 799 votes. Masilo trailed behind with 782 votes.

Masilo once served as senior private secretary to the President before he was redeployed to the Poverty Eradication programme in September 2012. He was also at one point in charge of the flagship Khama programme, the President’s Housing Appeal project.

Morupisi, who is also secretary to Cabinet, revealed the following in his announcement:

 - Rose Nametsegang Sennanyana has been promoted to the post of Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs. Jacob Champana Momene has been promoted to the post of Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate Services) in the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
