Moitoi resigns from BDP

In the letter, which was leaked to The Monitor, Moitoi stated that he was resigning from the party with immediate effect without mentioning any reason.
BDP Regional Secretary, Sonic Thobokwe confirmed that the party has received a resignation letter and a membership card from Moitoi.
He said that on Saturday he heard rumors that Moitoi wanted to resign from the party, but did not take them seriously because he thought that might not be true. He explained that he initially learnt that Moitoi has quit the part after he called him in his mobile phone.
“He told me that his resignation was not anyhow related with any party. He said that he wanted to run his business properly without aligning with any party,” said Thobokwe. In a telephone interview, Moitoi confirmed quitting the party saying he wanted to focus on his business.
“It is true that I have resigned from the party, but I quit only because I want to concentrate on my Mechanical Engineering Workshop, which is near Serowe Brigade. I want to give my business full attention without being a member of any branch of any political party,”explained Moitoi.
Meanwhile, Moitoi said that he will continue to fully support his wife in politics. He said that his resignation does not affect his wife in any way because both of them joined the party individually for different reasons.
