Lobatse Council warns against illegal use of logo

“We have noticed with great dismay that some people including organisations, have a tendency of using the Lobatse Town Council logo in their proposals and many other materials without authority,” he said.

He also said this action is against the law and requests that whoever is interested in using the logo seeks permission before using it.

“If people would like to use the town council logo, they should follow the right steps by coming to our offices and letting us know, however they will be required to write a letter or email for them to proceed and use it,” he said.

Thwabi said this is for the public’s own benefit as fraudsters could use the logo unlawfully claiming to be sourcing sponsorships and advertising, while intending  to swindle people of their hard earned money. Moreover, he said the move is to also protect the council and its reputation.

Thwabi urged the public to cooperate and follow the right steps as this can help the council identify and know the motive of those who want to use the logo.

The council plans calling individuals who have used the logo illegally to personally warn them.
