Suggie establishes a new recording studio

 

Fisher, who comes from a musical family told Showbiz in an interview that it has been her dream to own a studio.

“I have been aspiring to open a recording studio for a long time so that I could help fellow Batswana musicians realise their dreams and also to create employment.

“That’s why I started Massive Fisher Records, which is a fully registered company,” Fisher says.

So far, the new label has recorded emerging artists such as Tshegofatso Kgosietsile, Kingdom, and Charles Fisher who all sings gospel, ragga singer Scola Bandara and Moemedi, a kwasakwasa artist.

Fisher is also going to record her next album at the studio.

Quizzed what genres she intends to record at Massive Fisher Records, Suggie who is a notable praise and worship leader and a minister at church, said that she was ready to help artists from different musical persuasions.

“I intend to work with artists from different genres because God has given me the wisdom to record anyone who comes seeking for assistance.

“Botswana has a lot of raw talent that needs to be cultivated,” the new studio boss said.

The studio is currently based at Suggie’s family home, but the star said she is moving it to the Gaborone West mall soon.

Some of the staff members at Massive Fisher Records are her brother Charles Fisher who is the producer and Thato Vince, who is both the graphic designer and photographer.

Suggie herself is the managing director of the new recording company.

Suggie said that ever since establishing her record label, she has been inundated with calls from artists who want to be signed with her but she had to turn them down because she is still waiting for her label to grow before she does that. She further said that she hoped to start signing artists next year.

“I really aspire to sign up a good number of talented artists next year. I want Massive Fisher Records to produce award-winning artists who will be able to showcase their talents internationally.

“One of my dreams is to be able to record artists locally, but internationally as well,” she says.

The star asserted that Massive Fisher Records produces good quality music since they use good equipment.

Suggie said that soon, her company will also be able to organise big events, which will feature international acts.

Suggie, who has recorded a number of studio albums, said that she was working with another gospel artist, Kabelo Eric to record her next album.
