DC absolves Sankoyo

Satmos had protested that Sankoyo did not follow due processes when they registered their top marksman, Ruzivo.

They argued that since he was not properly registered, he should then be declared a defaulter. The DC, in its sitting on Tuesday, however, ruled Satmos had failed to demonstrate that indeed Ruzivo was a defaulter.

The decision will leave Ngurungu supporters relieved after they lost another case last month involving another foreign player, Shelton Sibanda. They were found guilty of fielding Zimbabwean-born Sibanda in their game against Motlakase Power Dynamos that resulted in the team docked three points and two goals.

Ruzivo has been an integral part of the Premier League high-flying rookies this season, scoring crucial goals. He is currently the second leading goal scorer in the league with 10 goals, three less than that of Lemponye Tshireletso of  log leaders, Mochudi Centre Chiefs.

Sankoyo currently sit at position nine with 30 points from 22 games. FC Satmos on the other hand had hoped that the decision favours them, which would have taken their tally of points to 24. They are currently placed at position 12, fighting for survival in the elite league.  Meanwhile, the case in which BR Highlanders were protesting the use of midfielder, Michael Pillar by Extension Gunners has been postponed.  BR Highlanders believe Pillar has been loaned twice in one season, which they say is against the Botswana Football Association (BFA) Play Rules and Regulations.

Letlapeng’s case against Gaborone United over the use of Tumisang Selolwane, who they say has been loaned twice this season, was adjourned to next week when the DC met on Tuesday.
