The 22-year-old Tanzanian photographer beat 26 other housemates in the ninth instalment of the show including Botswana representatives Goitseone Kgaswane and Sheillah Molelekwa to the prize money.

Although he had a brief affair, one of the most talked about relationships of the season with Kgaswane, Sultan said that he was real and honest with her.    After Kgaswane rebuffed his advances he quickly moved on with Uganda’s Ellah.

“I wanted to slap her most times.  I mean I just did not understand her.  I always did tell her that she was bipolar and she would get mad at me for that,” he said.   When relating his relationship with Kgaswane, Sultan said: “I cannot blame her for maybe thinking that I was using her as a strategy, but one thing about me is I do not go by the rules.  I do not go by the societal norms that when you meet someone you have to wait for sometime before you can make any moves.  That is just me.”

Sultan further said: “Goitse and I connected so well.  She had a strong character, but I was often confused because she would say the only people she cares about in the house were Sipe and I.

Then she would turn around and push me back, and this pissed me off often times.” Sultan also explained to Arts & Culture his somewhat controversial statements when he walked into the BBA house.

When interview by presenter IK during the launch of the Hotshots season on what he was good at, Sultan said he was ‘good with the ladies’. “My response was simple.

I said I was good at women, and this is because I was raised by a woman and I tend to understand women more because I think I have good communication skills,” said Sultan, who added that his strategy when going into the house was to be there for those who got lonely and sad.  That did not work out because of allies in the house.

Sultan also shared that when he was announced the winner of BBA everyone hugged him except Kgaswane. “Everyone jumped to hug me, but she did not.

I actually thought to myself if she was that angry at me, I mean I was rich now. I then walked out to her and hugged her myself,” Sultan said.

“During that two min hug on stage I whispered to her that I missed her.

At the afterparty we did not really talk much, and I was with Ellah who was mad at me that I had hugged Goitse like that.

I was caught in between, I quizzed myself as to what was happening,” he added.

Sultan the founder of the Sultan Nation also explained that his visit to Botswana would be on the charity work that he has embarked on.  He said that he will begin his Africa tour this month until August and will ultimately land in the country of his ‘ex-love interest’ sometime in July.

“I have a foundation going now, which basically involves me raising money and donating it to any organisation be it a school, hospital or orphanage around Africa that is in need,” he said.

“I will be focusing on the youth-based organisations though, hence the tour around Africa. The reason I am focusing on the youth is because I am one too and had I not won the BBA I still would have been trying to get my feet u.

I have noticed for most of us, our dreams are killed because we do not plan and strategise how we are actually going to make them a reality,” he said.

Meanwhile, Molelekwa is also pushing her brand in South Africa, the ex-beauty queen is the new ambassador for Adorabell Hair collections, whilst Kgaswane is said to be touring the country, around schools, in a bid to inspire and motivate the girl-child to grow up into a better woman.
