Jump start: Jwaneng Galaxy will need to re- ignite their tittle charge after a blistering start

The side has 33 points, six ahead of a revitalised Black Forest side.  Mogoditshane Fighters is in the third spot with 26 points.

Galaxy is left with five matches before the season ends and only needs six points to confirm a maiden spot in the Premier League.

On the other hand, should Forest win two matches and Galaxy lose, they will be at par with the log leaders, setting a thrilling end to the season.

Forest has an outstanding tough fixture against Fighters. Galaxy spokesperson, Kealeboga Ramogobya said they are concerned other teams are closing in on them. He said the six-point gap, although appearing safe, could be overhauled.

He said their mistake was to undermine small teams. “We considered the so-called big teams and undermined others. In the end we picked draws, which was not a good thing.

“We should not base our survival on numbers, but win matches as they come,” he said.

Ramogobya said they recruited players during the transfer window and they are yet to gel. He said most of the new players are from Premier League sides and are not used to playing in dusty grounds.

He said the players do well when playing at the Galaxy Stadium, which meets Premier League requirements.

He said the main challenge is that players are not yet used to the style of play, which has seen the side fail to convert numerous chances.

“We brought in Kenanao ‘Flo’ Kgetholetsile who is a box man and Tshokolo Gaborone who plays wide.

“The idea is for Kgetholetsile to hold the ball and for Gaborone to finish the job. We are yet to see that happening,” he said.

Ramogobya said it is difficult for the coach, Oris Radipotsane to change a winning team overnight at this crucial stage.

He explained that is one of the reasons why Kago Segokgo, who joined the side at the beginning of the second round, has not made the first team yet.

He said the player faces competition from other players such as Thebe Maiketso who plays in the same position hence he does not get much game time. Galaxy visits Lesirane City this weekend. The other remaining fixtures for the Jwaneng side are against Uniao Flamengo Santos (home), Prisons XI (home) and Gantsi Terrors (away).

Ramogobya said the aim is to collect maximum points starting with the weekend match.
