Motlakase are still not safe from relegation while with the win, Orapa United climbed to an unfamiliar territory of second position.

Chouka’s chairman, Mangisi Segadimo conceded that his team performed badly, but blamed fatigue.

“We admit the disappointment, but all the shame was caused by fatigue and less preparations. For small teams like ours, midweek games do not work for us, more especially when we travel to far places like Orapa.

“Besides, most of our key players are engaged with other jobs beside football,” he said.

He revealed that some of their players did not travel to Orapa due to school and work commitments.

Serati Semadi and Daniel Kedidimetse, both students at Lotsane Senior Secondary School did not travel with the team while captain, Jomo Bolofete only arrived an hour before the 7pm kick-off.

He said the team spent time waiting for permits to enter Orapa, which contributed to fatigue. Segadimo said players were collectively to blame for the loss. He was, however, optimistic the team would bounce back against BDF XI in Serowe this weekend. He said the players have remained positive despite the routing, their biggest of the season. “We are very aware of what to expect from BDF XI after their failure to progress in the CAF Confederations Cup. But, with no significant injuries in the camp and good preparations, we are confident. It is a good encounter because our level of stress is the same; we are equally stressed and we will both fight for a win,” said Segadimo.
