Rollers, Kaizer Chiefs Stars Drill Youngsters

The coaching clinic involved 40 boys between the ages of eight and 13, who were selected randomly from the SOS children home and different schools.
BNSC Chairman Solly Reikeletseng told The Monitor that the main purpose of the event was to motivate young boys who have desire in pursuing a football career.
“We decided to engage these two football teams because they have players these young aspire to be like.
“They watch them every week on television, so being here with them would really motivate these young boys,” said Reikeletseng. He also said it was one way of BNSC grooming the young and raw talent.
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune advised the boys to follow their football dreams, but emphasised they should not neglect their education, as football was a short career.
“ I grew up in a township. I am where I am because of football. So it is not impossible for these boys to make it too,” concluded the Amakhosi skipper.
Township Rollers goalkeeper Noah Maphosa called for discipline among the boys. He said discipline was the most important thing in the game.
“ You can have talent but without discipline you cannot go anywhere, so my advise to these young boys its to be disciplined,” he said.The festivities of the event included a mini football tournament. Others who attended the event were Kaizer Chiefs’ Ivan Bukenya, Khotso Moleko and David Zulu and Township Rollers’ Dirang Moloi, Tshepo Motlhabankwe and Jerome Ramatlhakwana.
