Moyo was shot in the leg during a shoot-out with police after the robbery, which left a police officer and another suspect dead.

Moyo was later transferred from Princess Marina where he was hospitalised to the Maximum Prison but on several occasions he failed to appear in court. It was reported that he needed special transportation because of his leg injury.

Together with the other three suspects Evans Mhiwatiwa, Gaofenngwe Seitiso and Thuso Tankomane, appeared in court where Principal Magistrate Janet Phosa was expected to make a ruling on the bail application but was postponed due to her ill health. The four accused together with two other suspects who are still at large, and one who died at the robbery scene, are alleged to have robbed a cash loan company in Kanye at gunpoint on January 29, 2014. They got away with cash, a car and cell phones. The accused are faced with five counts, which include armed robbery, murder, attempted murder, as well as unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

Last week, the four accused, through their attorneys applied for bail pending investigations. The prosecution opposed the bail, arguing that it was a cross-border crime and they were likely to abscond from court or interfere with investigations. Bail ruling will be delivered on Friday.
