TAFIC, Kazungula enjoy notable gains

TAFIC, which started the season on a low note, have come back strongly from the festive season break registering three straight victories to confirm their resurgence. Kazungula were inconsistent at the start of the season, but have since made improvement in recent weeks managing back-to-back wins.  TAFIC maintained their number five spot with a 3-1 victory over Tsabotlhe FC away on Saturday.

With automatic promotion hopefuls and log leaders Miscellaneous now looking out of reach with 34 points and a match in hand, TAFIC have now set their sight on the second position, which is a promotion play-off spot. The Machimenyenga Boys are now seven points behind second placed Mahalapye Hotspurs.

TAFIC will also be boosted by the fact that their supporters have been frequenting their matches and training following the club’s soaring form.

With Hotspurs and third-placed Green Lovers looking inconsistent since coming back from the break, TAFIC can fancy their chances. Lovers now have 26 points having recorded a 4-0 away win against Hotspurs on Sunday. Surprise package Kazungula seemed to have hit form at the right time, especially with their win against bottom-placed Great North Tigers.

They kept their forth position with a similar number of points as Lovers though with an inferior goal difference.

Tsabothe remain at position six with 19 points while Tonota having collected 17 points, also remain at position seven followed by Amakhosi who are also on 17 points, but have an inferior goal difference.Palapye All Stars, TASC and Maun Tigers are placed at positions 9,10 and 11 respectively with 16 points apiece in what can be termed as a competitive bid for survival.

Miscellaneous and all the bottom three clubs have played 15 games while other teams have played 16 matches so far.
