BDP think-tank retreats to introspect

The committee will also assess its own performance during the critical elections period last year.

According to highly placed sources within the party, one of the issues that the committee wants to improve on is its relationship with the media and party members.  It is understood different experts have been invited to the retreat to help the party on its strategies.

BDP Members of Parliament will reportedly hold a similar retreat within the next two months.

“The BDP is concerned that it is receiving bad publicity from different media houses week in and out and our committee wants to improve media relations and other issues.  “Again the importance of the retreat is to introspect on what we have achieved and failed as a committee,” the source said.

Communication committee chairman, Shaw Kgathi confirmed the upcoming retreat but declined to reveal details of the gathering’s agenda.

“We have not yet finalised the venue but the meeting will be internal. We are going to look into a number of things that we cannot disclose to the media,” Kgathi said.
