Report on abandoned Terrors, Fighters tie delayed

The match was abandoned after an off-the-ball incident between Onneile Segwai of Terrors and Gaofengwe Khubalo of Fighters. The referee did not spot the incident, but was alerted by his assistant referee, leading to Segwai being given a red card.
On his way out, the player slapped the assistant referee, who then said he could not continue as a result of the assault.
First Division South chairman, Sam Keitireng told Mmegi Sport yesterday that a decision could have been taken, but the referee had taken long to submit the match report.
He said according to the play rules and regulation, the player is supposed to be suspended although it is not clear for how long. He said a club can be fined P2, 000, but that will depend on the evidence brought forward.
“We always advise clubs to instill discipline in their players. We cannot afford to have such incidents because it tarnishes the image of the product that we are trying to develop which is football. “Despite that, these incidents are not widespread. Most incidents involve the use of abusive language,” he said. Meanwhile, First Division South League log leaders, Jwaneng Galaxy visit Rolling Boys at SSG ground tomorrow. Sparks are expected to fly during the encounter as the two sides look to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointment.
Galaxy grabbed a point after being held 0-0 by Black Forest while Boys lost 1-0 to Uniao Flamengo Santos. Galaxy coach, Oris Radipotsane said Rolling Boys are a dangerous opponent after a run of two losses.
He said they reached the play-offs last season, which is a sign that they are a good side.
“We are not going to undermine Boys. We will approach the game with caution because we want to increase our lead on the log. “If we are not careful, teams will close the gap on us,” he said. Keitireng said all the games would be played on Saturday due to the availability of match officials.
In other matches, Modipane United host Santos in Modipane while Forest take on Black Peril in Mmankgodi. Terrors welcome Lesirane City in Ghanzi and Killers Giants hosts Prisons XI in Ramotswa.
The last match of the day will be between Sharps Electrical and Fighters in Mogoditshane. Kick off time is 4pm.
