Miscellaneous, Hotspurs title race intensifies

Miscellaneous are left with eight games and lead with 31 points from 15 games while Hotspurs are just one point behind.  Miscellaneous match against Great North Tigers was called off due to bad weather over the weekend with the leaders 2-0 ahead.

Hotspurs, who have looked more consistent this season, registered a second consecutive win defeating Tsabothe 3-1 at home. Until recently, Green Lovers looked like a side that could cause an upset by claiming the league title. However, the Serowe outfit seemed to have run out of steam in recent weeks. Their title credentials were dented by an away 2-1 loss to unpredictable Kazungula Young Fighters over the weekend.

Lovers are now a distant third with 23 points from 15 outings. Another side that promised miracles at the start of the season, but have since flattered to deceive, is Tsabothe.  The Serowe side has now ceded its fourth position to Kazungula. Tsabothe has dropped a position lower than Kazungula by virtue of an inferior goal difference.

Both sides have accumulated 19 points from 15 matches played so far. Another side that has made notable gains after the league break is TAFIC.

Placed second from bottom three weeks ago, Machimenyenga boys have registered two back-to-back wins and now make the upper half of the 12 team league.

TAFIC have also managed 19 points though they have a poor goal difference.  Amakhosi begin the lower half of the table with 17 points followed by another inconsistent side Tonota FC who managed 16 points.

Palapye All Stars, TASC and Maun Tigers respectively occupy position nine,10 and 11 with 15 points.  TASC and Tigers have each played 15 games, which is a game less than Stars. GNT are bottom with a paltry 12 points from 14 outings.

Meanwhile, Miscellaneous will resume their title hunt tomorrow when they host Amakhosi in Serowe. TAFIC who have looked lively since making few signings, will also look to continue their good run when they also visit Serowe for a date with Tsabothe tomorrow. All Stars welcome Tonota FC in Palapye while Tigers will welcome TASC in Maun.  It looks like all Francistown clubs will be away from home this weekend as GNT will also travel to Kazungula who are blowing hot and cold this season. In the only Sunday fixture, title contenders Hotspurs will be away to faltering Green Lovers.
