BOKA, BNSC to discuss former committee fate

The interim committee chairperson, David Mathe said the former committee had not done the official handover.
He said the interim committee has compiled a report, which they will discuss with BNSC. He said one of the items in the report is misuse of funds by the deposed committee. “We have been looking into the matter and realised that maybe the committee did not misuse funds after all.
“We observed that in some instances, funds meant for a tournament were used for training. But if we discover that funds were misused, concerned individuals will account,” he said.
Despite that, Mathe said he has been communicating with the committee and they were not refusing to do handover.
Mathe said BOKA would elect a new executive committee in March 28 during a special general meeting.
He said the interim committee was tasked with reviewing the constitution of the association. He pointed out that the review of the constitution started when Million Masumbika was still at the helm of the association and they expect the committee that will be elected into office to complete the assignment.
“We are in the process of interviewing affiliates and some have been interviewed already. Constitution review takes time and involves a lot of things,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Mathe revealed that Ryushin-Kan Federation will be become a full member of BOKA in the ordinary general meeting expected to be held in June.
He explained that the federation has fulfilled all the requirements needed and there is nothing that can stop them from being a full member.
The interim secretary general, Montshwari Motlogelwa said the national team will be representing the country at the upcoming Zone Six championships.
He said the competition is a stepping-stone towards the All Africa Games that will be held in September. Motlogelwa said the national team has been inactive for some time. He explained that they would submit a proposal to BNSC asking for funds to conduct a training camp for the team.
