BNFYL plans reviving structures

Makatane said this was one of their strategies to intensify their campaign ahead of the 2019 general elections.

“We have resolved to engage in two phases towards ensuring that we reach the length and breadth of this country to sell the message of the UDC.  “From the 28th June 2015 we will tour the country, hold regional conferences and select regional committees in the Kweneng, Gantsi, Kgalagadi, Southern region and South Central areas,” he said.

Makatane also said their regional youth structures had been non-existent for a long time now, adding that they also had plans to revive party study groups.

“There is a constituency which has started one study group at the University of Botswana. We hope some party elders will help us to establish more,” he said.

He added that the purpose of this exercise would be to meet with their members and organise structures, which would enable them to effectively campaign for their party.

Makatane said the second phase would start on August 29, 2015, where they will cover the North, Central and Northern regions. He also added that the BNFYL would hold a special congress on November 6, 2015 in Kang.
