Chef Gustos drops I Can Be

The day was a special one for Chef Gustos as his birthday is on February 14.

Gustos, who has two singles receiving massive airplay on local radio stations, said he hoped his latest release would do even better in the market. The single, which features vocalist Lee, has an Afro-deep-soul touch to it.

The event kicked off with a performance by upcoming Hip-hop/Motswako artist, TswakBee of the Ngwanyana fame.

The musician’s vibrant performance managed to keep the youthful crowd on the dance floor. Aspiring House music artist Mk Beatz.95 did not disappoint when given the opportunity to rock the crowd. Mk Beatz.95 described the experience as fun and exciting, especially being his first time to perform at an event of that magnitude.

Other performers on the night included Shari, Gabriel, DJ Boza The Ultimixer and Amanandos. Veterans, KAST and Mapetla graced the event to support Gustos.

The organiser, Ryan Kgengwenyane said the idea behind the event was to bring a new twist to the way people celebrate Valentines Day, which is normally characterised by dining and wining at a table for two. He said they decided to cater for the younger generation.

Kgengwenyane however, admitted that they might have not done enough to market the event. That may be the aspect to look into in the future, as the plan is to make it an annual event.
