Chiefs open four points gap

Chiefs beat BR Highlanders 2-1 in Serowe on Friday night to open a four points gap at the summit of the log standings.

Lemponye Tshireletso scored a brace and also stretched his lead at the top of the goal scoring charts. He has now scored 13 goals coming from the wing.

Chiefs took control of the league table after Rollers tumbled against BDF XI a fortnight ago. They have now collected 44 points after 20 games.

Both Rollers and BDF XI will have the chance to reduce the gap when they shift their focus to the league on Wednesday.

Rollers take on Notwane in the Gaborone derby at the National Stadium. BDF XI square off with high riding Orapa United at Itekeng Stadium on the same day.

Both games kick off at 7pm. Rollers are still in position two despite not having played a league game this past weekend.

They have collected 40 points in 19 games they have played so far. BDF XI also managed to retain their third position on the log with a game in hand.  They have collected 37 points, seven behind log leaders.

Gaborone United (GU) failed to reduce the gap between them and log leaders when they played to a 0-0 draw with Nico United.

They now face the prospect of being leapfrogged by Orapa United if they beat BDF XI tomorrow.

Meanwhile the fight for survival at the bottom of log has intensified. FC Satmos, who have been struggling were in a mean mood when they thrashed another relegation candidate, ECCO City Greens 4-0.

The victory took Satmos to position 11 with 20 points. Letlapeng remain rooted at the bottom of the league table with just nine points.

They played to a 1-1 draw against Police XI.  ECCO are in position 15 with 16 points while Nico United are slightly above with 17 points after their draw against GU.
