Boy hangs himself after a quarrel

The boy allegedly hanged himself with a rope following a misunderstanding with his aunt who was angry at him for putting on her boyfriend’s shoes.
The aunt allegedly lashed him for putting on her boyfriend’s shoes. Gumare Police station commander Phillip Lopang confirmed the suicide case but would not say if the quarrel was over shoes.
Meanwhile Four young men of Maun aged between 17 and 18 appeared before the magistrate’s court for rape and armed robbery in Maun. The quartet are accused of robbing a villager of P 280, 00 , a cell phone and raping a 15 year old boarding student.
The accused include a 17 year old minor, Willie Tjihumino (19), Ueriuruka Maoveka (18 and George Hambira (18). According to the charge, on 1 February the four men at phase two ward in the fishing village of Sehitwa, whilst armed with a knife robbed Getty Hikuama a Nokia 1280 cell phone valuing P 280, 00.
The four men then allegedly thereafter proceeded to Ngami Junior Secondary School’s girls hostels where they raped a 15 year old boarding student. They are also facing another charge of attempted rape in which the state alleges that on the same day the accused attempted to rape another 15 year old female boarding student at the school.
The minor, Tjihumino, Maoveka who are all out on bail appeared briefly before Maun Principal Magistrate Mompati Taolo, but the fourth accused person George Hambira is reportedly on the run while a warrant of arrest has been issued for his arrest.
