Segwai assaulted the match official after being sent for  an early shower for a foul he committed against Gaofenngwe Khubalo.

The game was called off in the 43rd minute. Fighters were leading 1-0 through Khubalo’s strike in the 16th minute. The match commissioner, Thebeetsile Mokgwa told Sport Monitor that they decided to call off the match because the assistant referee was complaining of a headache from the assault. He explained that they did not expect Segwai to assault the assistant referee.

“We thought he was leaving and even the security was not expecting that to happen. At least he stopped by security before he could injure the referee.

We will wait for the referee’s report to determine the way forward. Action will be taken against any party found guilty,” said Mokgwa.

Meanwhile, the first half started with Terrors pushing for an early lead and they were nearly rewarded when a shot by Khwai Motoni missed by an inch in the 13th minute.

The side continued misusing their chances and Khubalo punished them after beating the offside trap. Ratanang Sekodeshwe failed to level matters in the 24th minute when his effort flew over the target. Thatayaone Pitso failed to connect with a pass from Khubalo that could have seen Fighters increasing their lead in the 27th minute. A few minutes later saw Terrors launching an attack that resulted in a goal by Motoni, but  the  goal was  ruled offside. Motoni’s other goal was disallowed again for  offside in the 37th minute.
