That is why the Metrophones Band has decided to showcase the magic of infusing music and love, by hosting a Valentine Dinner Dance at the Molapo Crossing Piazza this Saturday.
The Metrophones Band manager, Samuel Koka, said they would make the day a memorable one for attendees, who will be ushered into the glitzy venue decorated red and white. He said they wanted to make the event cozy for lovebirds and ensure they have the time of their life.
“As the country’s first and only jazz group with saxophone artists, we promise our fans the most beautiful and refreshing live performance ever. Every woman will be given a complimentary rose and chocolates upon arrival,” he said.
Koka said the dinner dance is one of their fundraising initiatives aimed at raising funds for their trip to South Africa, where they have been invited to the SAJE Jazz Festival in Cape Town this March. During this trip they will get an opportunity to perform and take part in several workshops, as well as present a paper on jazz and music education in Botswana.
“We want to raise funds for the trip, which will set us back about P190 000. About 12 of our members will represent Botswana in SA. Both the workshop and concert are very prestigious. There will also be artists from the United Stated of America present.
Being part of this show would give us an opportunity to market our band and country aboard,” he said.
