Zeus to perform at Tebelopele on Valentines� Day

TVCC will host events across the country where couples visit to take an HIV test together on Valentines’ Day.
Attendees are also expected to exchange ideas on how to tackle the fight against HIV/AIDS, and strive for zero new infections and transmissions.
Zeus explained that he wanted to spread the word on HIV/AIDS to youth, as he was confident that as an entertainment personality, he could lure many young people.
“As a young person and an artist I believe that changing one’s character can help fight HIV/AIDS in this country. We live in a challenging environment where young people are faced with several sexual reproduction challenges,” he said.
Zeus also divulged that he had established an organisation called I AM, which serves as an eye-opener on challenges that young people experience.
“I represent a demographic. I know what I go through and I want to voice out concerns and solutions on the discussed matter,” he said.
The I AM campaign is a self-development and leadership training program targeted at young people between the ages of 11 to 19, both in and out-of-school. The program intends to guide youth and help them find their life purpose. He further said the program would also help them take the first step in what would be a life long journey of learning, achieving and sharing in a chosen field or discipline that they were passionate about. “The program has built alliances with other partners that seek to empower young people in different areas required for personal and social growth, these include the Gender Department who carry a message of gender awareness and equality, as well as Ung Drive from Sweden who teach young people about establishing their own businesses,” he said.
Zeus said I AM would reach out to young people with motivational messages that are aimed at improving their thinking, by sharing with them the concept of living a purposeful life. He also said the goal of the project was to reduce the number of young people who made negative life choices regarding their sexual and reproductive health as well as wellbeing, due to lack of information. “I AM encourages participants to adopt a purpose driven life style and encourage them to think beyond today and protect their futures. It promotes the concept of living a purpose driven life. It also preaches having fun without the influence of alcohol and narcotic substance, as well as self-development, discipline and leadership,” he said.
The program was initially piloted in two secondary schools in Gaborone.
