Armed, dangerous Kanye robbers still at large

The suspects believed to be Zimbabweans are reported to be armed and dangerous.

Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Mbulawa said that they have not been successful in their quest to apprehend the suspects. He however assured the public that the police are working round the clock to catch the suspects before they strike again.

“So far we have not been successful in apprehending the remaining suspects, but as the police we rely on the community to combat crime and we request the public to assist with any information that may be helpful in arresting the suspects,” he said.

The two suspects, together with five others are alleged to have robbed Roschvillie Investment Cash Loan and shot a police constable after a shoot-out ensued near Mmakgodumo River two weeks ago.

Three of the seven suspects were last week arraigned before Principal Magistrate Janet Phosa and remanded in custody.

 One has since been transferred from hospital to police custody, while another one died on the spot during the shoot out with police.   Approximately P87,000 in cash and a Toyota Runx valued at P50,000 stolen during the heist have not yet been recovered, according to the charge sheet. Constable Focus Isaiah who died three days later from injuries, has since been buried in his home village of Tonota.
