Raditlhokwa laid to rest

The 51-year-old political commentator was one of the few known Batswana male feminists. His fight for gender equality and justice was robust, relentless and incessant. His friend and fellow UB social work lecturer, Taolo Lucas told the mourners Raditlhokwa was against gender violence.
“His aim was to fight against gender violence,” said Lucas, adding that his departed friend not only taught people to marry their partners but also love them. He also described Raditlhokwa as a God fearing man.
Lucas said they differed a lot during their intellectual interaction. “Whenever we differed he would tell me that I could not understand him because I was not born again,” he said.
In his obituary, Raditlhokwa is described as an academic, public intellectual, thought leader, human rights activist, productivity champion, political commentator, motivational speaker, counsellor, administrator and a teacher of Christian faith.
He graduated at the top of his class at UB in 1990 and recruited as a Student Development Fellow (SDF) before he enrolled at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada for a Master of Social Work Degree and later at University of Lund (Lund, Sweden). Upon his return he served as a lecturer in the Department of social work in the UB. He leaves behind his wife Seanokeng, three children; Tshegofatso, Hope and Mother and three sisters.
