The 19-year-old musician-cum-producer, who relocated to Botswana to pursue his studies, said his love for his native country music propelled him to delve into the genre.

Naijaboy produces his own music, at Trap House Music entertainment as an independent artist.

He shared that he learnt about music production at the missionary high school he attended, where they were encouraged to learn to play different musical instruments.

The Lagos born musician burst onto the local scene several weeks ago when he performed his unreleased track Anacoda on Botswana television entertainment show, Flava Dome. After his performance, social networks were abuzz as many people enquired who he was.

The song Anaconda will be officially released on February 13 across all radio stations and online. Naijaboy said he was also looking forward to releasing an album later this year. He added that he would like to feature his role model, Nigerian maestro Flava, and former My Star contestant, Amantle.

The energetic teenager also noted that he wanted to create solid relations with local audiencesí and create music that would appeal to them. He encouraged local artists to market their craft internationally to develop a global audience, the same way his Nigerian peers, Davido, Dí banj and Tiwa Savage were doing.

The Nigerian artist is currently affiliated with DJ Crispinís Crispy Fresh Music Group.

According to their agreement, the latter promotes Naijaboyís branding, marketing and performance bookings.
