Coach�s resignation shocks Notwane

The South African tendered his resignation letter to the management on Tuesday after just three months with the team.
He joined Notwane after the departure of Innocent Morapedi in the middle of the first round of the league. Notwane spokesperson, Podi Mooki, said Petersen had a one-year deal with the club in which he was given a three-month probation.
His probation period elapsed last Saturday before he led Notwane to a 1-0 victory over Extension Gunners at SSKB Stadium.
The technical committee then had a meeting on Monday before the management met on Tuesday where they were ready to continue with Petersen as the head coach.
To their surprise, he said, Petersen instead gave them a resignation letter that did not say much on why he was leaving. He said there was no indication whatsoever before that the coach was on his way out. “We really wanted to keep him because we believe he is a good coach. We went to great lengths to bring him here because of his credentials because we believed he will do well and he did,” Mooki said.
Mooki said this is a difficult time for them because the league is ongoing. Notwane take on Mochudi Centre Chiefs tomorrow at SSKB Stadium.
Mooki said they have roped in former player, Fabian Zulu as caretaker coach. He will be assisted by Moshe Moseki.
“We are also hoping that one of our former players will arrive and assist them. We cannot reveal his name for now because we are still negotiating with him,” Mooki said. Notwane are not the only Premier League with coach trouble. Extension Gunners have reportedly fired both Dragojlo Stanojlovic and his assistant, Khalid Niyonzima.
The news would come a shock considering that Gunners have not been bad this season despite losing their last two games.
Stanojlovic was on the stands serving suspension during the two losses. Several names are linked with the club following the two’s departure.
Zebras assistant coach, Pio Paul, is reported to be on his way to Mapantsula where he is likely to be roped in as an assistant coach to Petersen.
