Giants upbeat ahead of Galaxy clash

Galaxy go into the game perched at the top of the log with 24 points while Giants are in fifth position with 19.

Giants will be pushing to improve their log standings while Galaxy want to cement their grip on the top spot.

Giants coach, Kingsley Makgolela said yesterday that playing a team at the top is a motivation on its own. He said his charges are fired up ahead of the clash. He said beating Galaxy would be a bonus.

“We must close the gap with the nearest team in the log for us to remain competitive. Stakes are high and we have to redeem ourselves,” he said.

Makgolela pointed out that they lost some prominent players during the January transfer window.

One of the players that Giants lost is Thato Seagateng to Flamengo Santos. Makgolela said the loss meant they had to look around for new signings, which was not easy.

He said his side is injury free and the material that he will field is enough to get bag maximum points.

Galaxy coach, Oris Radipotsane said there were no special preparations for the match. He explained that after every game, they prepare for the next fixture.

He said Giants will be home but that will not deter his side from winning the match. Radipotsane said there is no easy team in the league, adding that getting a win against Sharps Electrical last weekend was not easy.

“All our games are tough. We are playing all the top five teams in the log. Our next match is against Black Forest.

We just have to work hard and collect maximum points,” he said.

Radipotsane said his players are ready for action and they are not taking anything for granted.

He said getting the three points from the match will be a boost for his side and they will fight with everything they have to make that a reality.
