Mokgosi offers Zion House gospel album

The October 10 incident happened near Mmopane Engen Filling Station where he was hoping to get help.
Sadly for him, the people in the white van pursuing him started shooting at him right after he got there.
He suffered two bullet wounds and was hospitalised for some time.
On that fateful day, the man from Metsimotlhabe had just finished recording his Zion House gospel debut album titled Emelela, which he was planning to release in the near future.
“I finished my album on October 8 and I was shot two days later,” he says.
Initially the album was a seven-track album, but after the incident he decided to add another song.
He named the new track, Joshua Ema.
The praise song gives thanks to God for protecting and healing him.
The song opens with sounds of gunshots, and a narration by Lesedi, an upcoming artist who is featured in a couple other songs.
The short narration goes, “Go ne go le bothoko ha nne morwa Mokgosi a robetse hareng ho go phateng tse chesang hareng go sepatela sa Marina. Modimo a mo gopola, a mo tsosa, morwa Mokgosi ema, ema o fodile”.
Loosely translated the narration states that, “It was painful when Mokgosi’s son was admitted at Princess Marina Hospital”. It further states that, “God remembered him and instructed him to stand up and walk as he was healed”.
The song, however, is a popular gospel track sung in a number of churches. In Mokgosi’s case, his version captures his ordeal.
It also features producer, Thapelo Tshoganetso of Thapelo and Matona a Juda, who Mokgosi glorifies as the founder a gospel music genre called Zion House gospel.
“He is the one who started the music genre,” he emphasised.
All the songs in the album are up-tempo, save for the song titled Ebola, which addresses the trail left by the outbreak, which mostly affected West African countries.
In this song Mokgosi features his son, who is currently doing Form Two.
“I was concerned to see people dying because of Ebola, that is why I wrote that song,” he said.
The song calls for the whole of Africa and the rest of the world to come together and pray to God to rid the world of the disease.
Other songs in the album include Mpepe, Emelela, Jesu, Joshua Bolela, Kanana! Kanana! and Boloka Lefatshe. Mokgosi is a pastor at a church called St Sesenathe.
