Dagizus told Showbiz that he is in the country to check the progress of his stable.

“I always communicate with them through the internet, which is not enough so I am here to interact with them and see how I can help them push their projects,” he said.

Dagizus, who is also a producer and a DJ, said while he is in Botswana, he is going to attend the launch of a single by one of his artists, Oteng Mokgadi, also known as Ottoo.

Ottoo is set to release his single Riding On Love at Club Lagos in Francistown this week.  He will also check the progress of Shatiso ‘Buckshot’ Thangwane’s upcoming album, among other things.

“I will also take time to promote my latest single called On Reply, which I recently released,” Dagizus said.

Dagizus said that he will also visit places such as Francistown, Mahalapye and Gaborone where most of his artists are based.

Dagee Records has a studio in Mahalapye where his artists do most of their recordings.“We intend to make our studio mobile so that we are able make it accessible to our artists all over the country. Some of them are unable to visit the studio because of the travelling costs involved, so we want to make things easy for them,” he said.

He also said that his company is currently working on merchandise which will be worn by his artists to promote the record label.

The line will also be available on the mainstream market.

“We aim to make Dagee Records one of the top labels in the country, so it is important that we brand ourselves.  That is why we have decided to come up with our own clothing label. Our clothes are nicely designed so we will also sell them to the public soon,” he said.

Dagizus further said that most of the work currently released by his record label will be available for free online, including his electro-house single, On Replay and Ottoo’s house single. “You may wonder why we are releasing free singles at the moment, but the thing is we want to test the market and see how the public receives our works.

Once we see that the reception is good, we are going to release full albums,” he said, adding that unlike some studios, they do not want to release half-baked projects.

The DJ said he has been able to run his record label from overseas with the help of his Botswana-based manager, Nathaniel Otukile.
