To date the police have not publicly confirmed a raid on Masters’ office, which reportedly led to the discovery of the material on his laptop.

A Mmegi Sport deep throat said Masters was ready to quit last Friday, but changed his mind. “We believe he was waiting for the president (Tebogo Sebego) to return from the AFCON finals in Equatorial Guinea. He had the resignation letter with him on Friday, but we don’t know why he did not submit it,” the source said.

Masters was supposed to return to work on Monday, but was given more time to focus on the woes afflicting him. His office line rang unanswered, while his mobile phone was off air. Over the weekend, he was at the National Stadium for the top of the table clash between Township Rollers and Mochudi Centre Chiefs.

“He has decided to save his and the organisation’s face by resigning. He was in the office briefly yesterday to clear his desk,” a source said.

BFA president, Tebogo Sebego said he could not comment on the matter because it is with the police. “We will issue a statement today (yesterday). Keith was at work yesterday, but we have given him more time to attend to the issue.

This is not a work-related issue and we will wait for the police to conclude their investigations,” Sebego said.

According to the Cybercrimes and Computer Related Crimes Act, if Masters is found guilty of possession of pornographic material, he faces a fine of P5,000 or a prison term not exceeding three months.

Reports say Masters was also found with large quantities of Viagra, a controlled substance. Sources said Masters was set-up by critics who wanted him fired. Sebego appointed Masters CEO in February 2013 but critics argue he has largely been underwhelming.
