Rollers’ spokesperson, Bafana Phempheretlhe Pheto has faulted Monnakgotla for using the club’s logo and players in promotional materials to lure fans to use the company’s buses to travel to South Africa for the match. He said they have made arrangements with Mahube Express, and not Monnakgotla to transport supporters. He said the two companies were invited to submit their proposals and Rollers management chose Mahube. Pheto said Rollers’ legal expert is handling the matter with Monnakgotla.

Efforts to get a comment from Monnakgotla management were futile at press time as they were said to be engaged in a meeting.

Meanwhile, Pheto said enough gates were opened for spectators during their epic encounter against Mochudi Centre Chiefs on Saturday.

There was pandemonium as fans wrestled to purchase tickets behind the grand stand, but Pheto maintains there was order.

“It is not true (that there was commotion). We even opened an extra two gates. It is also not true that we sold more tickets than what the grand stand could accommodate. The Premier League is the one responsible for printing the tickets and they know the stadium capacity,” he stated.

He advised supporters to change their mind-sets and arrive at the stadium an hour before kick-off to avoid delaying the game.

Pheto said supporters must stick to the international practice of being time cautious. He said in some instances, supporters arrive late even when they have tickets.

Botswana Premier League chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi said there was an improvement in ticketing arrangement compared to the chaos that characterised the Gunners, Rollers’ clash. He said the BPL is working on a long term ticketing solution.
