He explained that they had to respect the wishes of the other two coaches who left of their own volition.

He said they only fired one coach, Nelson Olebile, while the other two resigned. “They have cited their reasons for leaving and we always have to respect their decisions,” Magagane told Mmegi Sport.

He said Nare cited poor results as the reason for his resignation.

He joined Letlapeng at the beginning of the second round last month. Magagane denied allegations that the management is divided, hence the high turnover of coaches and the poor results. “Our committee has five people and there are no divisions at all as far as I know,” he said.

Nare left after just three games at the helm.

His departure leaves Matshidiso Moseki as the interim coach. He becomes the fourth coach at the club this season after 18 games. Moseki has been Nare’s assistant and will be in charge until a decision on a new coach is made. His first assignment is against Gaborone United (GU) on Saturday at the SSKB Stadium.

Letlapeng started the season under the tutelage of the man to masterminded their maiden promotion to the top flight, Thaloba Nthaga. The coach resigned in September last year after a 3-1 loss to FC Satmos. He cited poor results as his reason for leaving. Olebile took the reins in the hope of improving the team’s performance and secure their Premier League status, but failed to stem the tide as Letlapeng sunk into the relegation zone.

The team is currently languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table with only eight points from 18 games. Since the season started, they have only won two games, drew two and lost 14.

They have scored 11 goals. Despite their current position, Magagane said their aim is to preserve their status in the league though he admitted that it will depend on how they perform in the remaining games. “Only God knows where Letlapeng would be next season. If we manage to survive relegation, it will be good but if we do relegate, we will have to pick ourselves and return to the elite league,” he said.

The club recruited 13 new players during the just ended transfer window in the hope of turning things around. Among the players are two former Township Rollers’ men, Bobby Mathe and Shadrack Kgosietsile. Mathe moved to Letlapeng following the arrival of goalkeeper, Noah Maposa at Rollers. His stay would have meant that he would compete for a starting berth with Mwampule Masule, Michael Pepukani and Maposa.
