Cattle rustler caught with 80 herds

According to Maun Police station Commander Peter Gochela, a man was found with 80 heads of cattle at Tatamoga cattle post near Makalamabedi. The suspect allegedly fled the scene on horse and a week later he is still at large. The police who were acting on a tipoff thereafter drove the cattle to Makalamabedi for safekeeping and identification by their owners.  Gochela said some farmers have already identified some of the cattle as theirs. “As part of the investigations we have collected statements from all the farmers who identified their cattle.

Gochela said the suspect has been on the run, but they remain hopeful to nab him soon as he is well known. The man is reportedly a well known cattle rustler in the Makalamabedi area.” We have opened a rigorous manhunt for him and we are also appealing for members of the public who could know him to help us nab him” he said

Meanwhile Gochela confirmed to The Monitor on Friday that two men have been arrested in connection with terrorising white communities in a series of house breaking cases in Sedie ward over the festive holidays. Gochela said the men targeted exclusively homes owned by the white community along the river.

He said at list five homes were broken into and electronics like cameras, computers, laptops and other goods were stolen. Gochela said some of the stolen goods like the laptops, gas cylinders, a rifle and cameras were recovered from the two men.
