Zebron Ndjovu scored the only goal of the match in the first half to hand Notwane victory. It was Gunners second loss this year, having lost 4-2 to Township Rollers last Saturday at the National Stadium. Notwane missed three key players, Moemedi Moatlhaping (injury), Monageng Thaele (injury) and Topo Piet (suspension) against a determined Notwane side.

However, they created the first real chance of the game, but found Notwane goalkeeper, Itumeleng Selapa in his element and he denied Mosimanegape Ntwaetsile. Emmanuel Machinya faced his former team, Notwane for the first time since joining them last week, but was replaced in the second half after finding it difficult against the likes of Kereng Mpetang. Notwane took the lead through Zebron Ndjovu after some good showing by Langa Mabuli on the left. Mabuli was a constant menace to Gunners’ right back, Finkie Mothibi with his speed and skill on the left.

Mothibi was eventually replaced before the end of the first half with midfielder, Tshepo Molefe coming in.  In the second half, Gunners tried to raise the tempo of the game and were awarded a free kick. Molefe’s shot was well read by Notwane goalkeeper, Selapa who cleverly chipped it over the bar with his fingertips to concede a corner. Few minutes later, Selapa did well again, this time denying Kelelelo Kgosimore.

Gunners continued to pile more pressure in search of an equaliser and got the best chance of the second half in the 75th minute.  Second half substitute, Bonolo Mosea laid a good pass to Thabiso Mabache who finds himself with only Selapa to beat, but was also denied by the former National Under-23 goalkeeper.
