Raditlhokwa is late

The daughter of the departed UB Social Work lecturer, Tshegofatsho Raditlhokwa confirmed that her father passed on at Bokamoso Private Hospital Monday evening. He apparently succumbed to diabetes. Raditlhokwa was not only an academic but also a shrewd political commentator and a columnist.

Two years ago he was involved in a car accident, leaving him with serious injuries.

The prolific Raditlhokwa is also remembered as one of the former Botswana National Front (BNF) Otsweletse Moupo’s fiercest critics. He once compared Moupo to a ragamuffin. He was quoted by Mmegi as saying: “Another problem is that Moupo has very little understanding of the psychology of good looks. He needs to be fixed so that he can project a presidential image.

“Most professional negotiators and investors cannot take him seriously in his looks. A modern politician must not look like a ragamuffin. He should exude assertiveness, seriousness, and a sense of power, poise and polish. Again, he must minimise the inappropriate laughter that undermines his professionalism”.

Moupo lodged a lawsuit against him, which he later withdrew.
