Rollers race against time to land Dirang

Moloi has been training with Rollers but has not signed on the dotted line as he awaits a reverse international clearance from his previous DRC club, Don Bosco.

Rollers’ spokesperson, Bafana Pheto said they are hoping to land the player before the mid-season transfer window closes on Friday.

The destructive midfielder nicknamed ‘Mthakathi’ has been inactive since he decided to leave DRC club, Don Bosco over contractual issues last season.

“We have not yet concluded the deal. We want to complete it before Friday and we remain hopeful that it will happen,” Pheto said.

Reports claim Rollers have made a hefty offer with a salary of over P20, 000 to the mercurial midfielder.

If he signs before the Friday deadline, ‘Malam’ might be in line to make his Rollers debut against his former side, Mochudi Centre Chiefs.

The two meet in a top of the table encounter at the National Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Rollers are three points ahead of Chiefs.

Meanwhile, after a hectic transfer window, which has seen the arrival of Jerome Ramatlhakwana, Tshepo ‘Talk Talk’ Motlhabankwe, Edwin Moalosi, the imminent Moloi and Noah Maposa deals, Pheto declared the transfer business closed.

Earlier in the month, the Rollers technical team had told Mmegi Sport it would not make any other additions besides Ramatlhakwana and Moalosi.

The arrival of Maposa has particularly raised eyebrows as the team has two competent shot stoppers in last season’s Player of the Year, Mwampule Masule and Michael Pepukani.

Regarding their CAF squad, Pheto said they had added Motlhabankwe and Ramatlhakwana to bring the list to 30.

The signing of Maposa has been challenged by his former club, Gaborone United and the Botswana Premier League will rule on the matter.
