The DJ, born Fauz El-Kindy, says he is working on something new and is planning on staging a number of performances.

Many will remember DJ Fauz as the Kosher Nights Sessions resident DJ.  He is now no longer part of the sessions and is ready to spread his wings.

He has already started hosting events around Gaborone.

He says his soon-to-be debut release, Black Diamonds, is 60 percent done and is working on the final touches of the hip-hop mixtape.

He has released a few singles from the mixtape including The Commission, which features Sasa Klaas, Mak and legendary rapper, Stagga.

“I am looking forward to working with more artists such as Zeus, Dramaboi and Scar,” he says.

He says that he has taken some quality time to record Black Diamonds because he believes in quality music and entertainment.

He claims that his mixtape will revive rap music and its authenticity.

“You should expect true hip hop from the mixtape,” DJ Fauz says.

He further mentioned that he will be hosting a number of events with different themes around the country.

“I want to create entertainment options for people in the country and help develop the scene,” he said.

DJ Fauz recently parted ways with his associates at Kosher Nights Sessions to focus more on his solo deejaying projects.

“Since I am no longer part of Kosher Nights Sessions I am now performing in different places throughout the week,” Fauz said.

He further said the main reason he parted ways with his associates was not only to give his craft more time but also to take it to different places.

DJ Fauz looks up to the likes of O’Neil and DJ Khenzo.  He still uses the traditional turntables to mix, but they are in an advanced digital form. He said revamping his career will not only develop his craft but will also create memories for everyone who enjoys his work.

He recently started hosting gigs at places such as Cigar Lounge, Boulevard and Kiss Africa.
