Suspected killer cop�s hearing delayed further

The state alleges that Mojanki partly burnt a Toyota Corolla belonging to Letsweletse Matome at the Mmei Junior Secondary School on April 21 in 2012, destroying goods worth P4,000.
The State prosecutor Tawana Kapongo applied for the matter to be postponed because two witnesses who were supposed to testify will only be available in February.
The case is before Principal Magistrate Dumisani Basupi.
Kapongo added that the state will call three witnesses to testify in the matter.
In an unrelated matter, Mojanki is also facing another charge of murder.
The state alleges that last year, he (Mojanki) killed Bokani Sox, who was a nurse at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital.
The 33-year-old Mojanki of Monarch was initially jointly charged with fellow police officer and girlfriend, Tshepho Queen Nnewa, 42, for the murder of 28-year-old Sox last year. Nnewa has launched a lawsuit against the State demanding P1 million compensation for unlawful arrest, detention and malicious prosecution after the State withdrew murder charges against her.
Sox’s badly burnt corpse was found days later on the outskirts of Francistown before it was taken to her home village for burial.
Meanwhile, prosecutor Gasemotho Pitlagano told the court that 24-year-old Veronica Keitebetse who was found guilty of stealing P97,000 from National Development Bank (NDB) is a first offender.
Pitlagano applied for the matter to be postponed to today because the accused wanted to compensate the NDB.
Keitebetse, who stole the money using fake documents in October 2011, has pleaded not guilty to the offence.
She gave an unsworn statement.
Passing judgment, Principal Magistrate Dumisani Basupi said that the first prosecution witness who is a risk analyst at NDB said that Keitebetse applied for a Bokamoso loan, which subsequently made NDB to deposit P97,000 in her account.
She later denied that she had ever applied for a loan from NDB adding that the bank did not deposit any money into her account.
A First National Bank statement, certificate of land rights, Omang, NDB loan letter, salary advice slip amongst other documents bearing Keitebetse’ s full names, were produced in court as evidence.
