Kaizer Chiefs tie to cost Rollers P2m

The club has raised P750, 000 that was the original budget for the encounter, but costs have since been revised to P2 million.
Rollers travel to South Africa for the first leg on February 14 at the FNB Stadium before the return leg at the National Stadium in Gaborone on February 28.
Rollers’ secretary general, Khumo Masonya told a press conference in Gaborone yesterday they are expected to host Kaizer Chiefs in at least a three star hotel and pay allowances of $750 to match officials.
The club will also provide transport for the officials. Masonya said Rollers are expected to provide security and transport for Kaizer Chiefs during training and match day.
He said they remain hopeful of meeting the competition demands. Rollers chairman, Walter Kgabung said CAF has decided each team should pay for its costs.
He explained they are still discussing the latest developments with Kaizer Chiefs. He said the logistics of playing in South Africa are not as bad as other countries. Kgabung said the club will continue to raise funds as more money is needed if the team progresses in the competition.
Rollers have announced that tickets for the Chiefs match will not be sold at the National Stadium in Gaborone.
The tickets are being sold at P50 until February 14 and after that they will be P75 until the 27th. For the South Africa match, tickets will cost R40. Kgabung said Rollers coach, Madinda Ndlovu would be available for both encounters after leaving for Zimbabwe at the weekend to get his CAF A licence.
Meanwhile, Rollers intends to loan out two players after the arrival of Jerome Ramatlhakwana and Tshepo Motlhabankwe.
“After signing Jerome Ramatlhakwana and Tshepo Motlhabankwe, we now have 32 players. We intend to loan two of our players to remain with the 30 players as it is a requirement by Botswana Football Association (BFA),” Masonya said.
He said the transfer window is still open and the technical committee will advise which players should be signed. He said a total of 28 players have been registered for CAF. Another two will be registered before the January 31 closing date.
