Motswafere ditches his feminine look

“It is demeaning to be called a diva, but at that time it was appropriate because of the dance moves and attitude I had. Extreme feminism does not appeal to me any more that part of my life is slowly hitting the breaks,” said the musician who now prefers to be called Mr Motswafere.

The musician sparked controversy on social networks last year when a picture of him in braids and female make up trended online. Motswafere said he decided to find his inner self, his voice as a musician and time to talk to God.

In that period the musician says he gained maturity and he has out grown the old being in him.  He states that his growth has also made him to nature his music and craft. “In 2013 I had recorded close to 10 songs and when I was about to release it, I was like Nooo this is not music, I am not yet ready,” he said.

Motswafere said his new music is more mature, in terms of lyrics, art, and representation. He added that he is now using live instruments during performances.

The singer said he is currently in the studio recording some new material; he is working with vocalist Neo Katse and a Zimbabwean producer Kollen Mashumba.

Motswafere is set to release an album this year. He has also worked with artists such as ATI and Spiza Valentino.

He has previously released a track called Boys in Heels. He first burst into the music scene a few years ago when he was a contestant on the music talent search show My Star.
