Galaxy Silence Fighters

Goareng’s strike in the 80th minute took a deflection off Fighters goalkeeper, Botlhe Moralo.

The win sees Galaxy extend their lead at the top as they now have 24points. Galaxy’s first attempt at goal came in the eighth minute but Tshiamo Moreetsi’s effort drifted across the face of goal. Fighters gained momentum as the game progressed, with a Mokgathi Mokgathi set piece hitting the side net after 11minutes.

Elvis Gaongalelwe looked dangerous on attack for Fighters but Kagiso Molapisi was equal to the task. Daniel Mogapi wasted a great chance as he failed to get a proper connection with a pass from Mokgathi in the 26th minute.

Fighters continued on the ascendency with Bokamoso Lesolame’s attempt was saved in the 34th minute.

The second half saw Galaxy introduce Otsile Seanego and Bagale in the 49th minute. Mokgathi’s volley flew over the target in the 55th minute before Anthony Gouws almost gifted Fighters a goal when he moved off the line. However, Boitumelo Mafoko cleared the danger.

Fighters’ coach, Mpho Mabogo said Galaxy punished his team due to loss of concentration. “Galaxy had a chance at goal and they utilised it. We had many chances that we failed to bury. We have to go back to the drawing board and plan for the next game,” said Mabogo.

Galaxy coach, Oris Radipotsane said the game gave him an opportunity to see his new players in action. He said the new signings have fitted in well. He said the only challenge was lack of friendly matches during the off-season.
