BDF IX target league title

BDF IX coach, Tapologo Moremedi said it is difficult to gauge the team’s progress at the moment as they have not played since the festive season break.  Moremedi said preparations for the second round were hampered by the absence of some players who are out on army duty.

He expects to have a full squad by the end of the month. Moremedi said the target is to grab the title and changes would be made to the team in order to make it stronger.  “Our plan is to continue winning games.

The prize money is a motivation and makes players to play to their best level,” Moremedi said.

Meanwhile, bottom placed UB Giants manager, Puso Kgosietsile has said his side’s progress is hampered by loss of key players every season. He said they have managed to sign a player from Comets.

Meanwhile, teams in the north would be in action in Serowe with Mahalapye based Rail Giants playing catch-up with a triple header against Raptures, Carats and Rebels.

Rail Giants caretaker coach, Romeo Tshelametsi said his team was excused from playing first round matches as they were not ready.

Tshelametsi said the club does not have enough players with some injured, while others have moved to Gaborone to further their studies.

“We are going to do everything we can with the material we have. We are facing a mammoth task but we will pull through,” he said.

Carats lead the men’s log with eight points, followed by Comets with six and Raptures with four points. Motlakase is fourth with two points.  Motlakase is top in the women’s league with eight points, Carats is second with six and Comets third with four points.
