Champions BDF XI draw Rollers in Top 8

BDF XI beat Rollers in a tense penalty shoot-out at the National Stadium to lift the trophy last season.

Now Rollers have vowed to revenge, while BDF XI maintain the trophy would remain at SSKB.

“We have been waiting for this challenge. I am happy we meet after last season’s final. We will use them, as a stepping stone on our way to the final, “was the curt response from Rollers spokesperson, Bafana Pheto after the draw

But BDF XI vice secretary, Oarabile Setlhare retorted that the trophy would remain in their cabinet.

“The trophy will remain at SSKB. We do not care who we meet in the final although Gaborone United (GU) will suit us better because they owe us,” he said.

In the other semi final, Nico United face GU with both teams declaring they will proceed to the final.

GU secretary, Hebert Letsebe described the draw as fair.

“It is a good draw. We were prepared for any team as we are focused on winning this tournament. We have played Nico before and history shows that we never had any problems with them. We are in the tournament to win the cup,” he said.

A Nico representative said they would give GU respect and that the Gaborone side should not forget what happened to Mochudi Centre Chiefs in the quarter- finals. The Selebi-Phikwe side walloped Chiefs 3-0 in the first leg before going down 1-0 in the return to progress 3-1 on aggregate.

BDF XI and GU will host the first leg of the se is, expected to be played during the first week of February.  Dates of the two legged semi finals would be announced before the end of the week.
